We are emigrating, do we have free cover? |
Cover does not apply if the intention of your journey is emigration. |
I have qualified for a free frequent flyer ticket; may I obtain insurance cover? |
Yes, provided you purchase the optional insurance cover you will benefit from both the free and optional insurance cover. |
My wife is pregnant. Will she be covered in the event of childbirth or miscarriage whilst we are on a covered journey? |
Any complications due directly to accidental bodily injury will be covered under the American Express® Cards travel insurance. We would suggest that you purchase a AIG policy, which covers pregnancy or childbirth up to 14 weeks prior to the expected date of delivery or up to the 1st day of the 26th week. More information can be obtained from American Express® Cards or your travel agent.

I will be renting a car for a period of two weeks during my forthcoming trip to the United States. By taking out your optional insurance, will I be covered for Personal Liability in the event of my causing an accident? |
Personal Liability does not provide cover whilst you are in control of a motorised vehicle. We would suggest that you discuss your insurance requirements with the card rental company. |
My children are participating in an inter-school football and netball tour to Australia. We intend purchasing their tickets on an American Express® Card - will they be covered whilst playing sport? |
Football and netball are classified as contact sports and therefore cover would be excluded whilst they are participating in these sports. Please contact American Express® Cards or your travel agent and, for a small premium, request a Sports Endorsement on the free cover. |
